Moment of Inspiration
MOMENT OF INSPIRATION

The “Little House on the Prairie” television series of many years ago was sweet entertainment but sappily unrealistic in the way the characters always wore freshly washed and pressed clothes on bodies squeaking clean fresh from the galvanized tub. They were supposed to be a pioneer family, but they seemed to live like the Nelsons, as in Ozzie and Harriet, the only difference being that Ma did not walk around in high heels and Pa was not forever suggesting that he and the kids go eat some of Ma’s fresh baked cookies.
Making pioneering look so easy was pure fantasy, and I wonder if fans of that weekly show were disillusioned by it when they attempted to pioneer their own plans. The truth is, you cannot pioneer anything without getting dirty or, as John Steinbeck has a mechanic say in his short story, The Wayward Bus, the job is not finished until your knuckles bleed.
A bit of dirt and a spot of blood is nothing to be put off by. Sweat comes with the territory when you are on the road to success, so take it in stride. You can always wash your hands when the dirty work is complete, and maybe even put on a band-aid, if necessary. Anything you do new is pioneering, and although it will not always be glamorous, it always will be ego-satisfying. (Why not “soul-satisfying,” you ask? Because soul, being an extension of Spirit, always is satisfied.)
